Bicentennial Walk – Airlie Beach

Start: Seabreeze Tourist Park Cannonvale

End: Seabreeze Tourist Park Cannonvale

Distance: 8.8km (out and back)

Time: 1 hr 50 minutes (with coffee stop)

The Bicentennial Walking Track is a very well maintained trail made up of sealed pathways and raised boardwalks along the foreshore running between Cannonvale and Airlie Beach.

The track winds its way past Abell Point Marina; where luxury yachts are moored, cruise ship tenders arrive and many day drippers head out to the islands and reef.

Heading south from Abell Point Marina it passes Coral Coast resort and then heads into the tourist town of Airlie Beach, with its many backpacker hostels, nightclubs, bars and cafes. Airlie is a small town but certainly offers a lot.

Just before reaching the center of Airlie there is a brilliant lagoon pool open to the public. The waters are very inviting and croc free!

We returned to Seabreeze Tourist Park the way we came. Really, the views across the bay, marina and hinterland are just magnificent. It’s definitely paradise at this time of year.
